Nic Gavalas was born in Augusta, GA.
His father was a master tailor and made clothing for a living.
On June 24th 1950, Nic opened a modest 800 sq. ft. store on Monroe
Street next to the Florida Capital in downtown Tallahassee.
Today, over 70 years later, there are three stores in Tallahassee.
Now all of Nic's sons and grandsons are fulfilling his dream of dressing
the Southeast region with the finest quality clothing and service.
For 13 years in a row, Esquire Magazine has named Nic’s Toggery,
“Top 100 Men’s Store" in the U.S..
Our personal service and attention to detail have also earned us
the coveted "Tallahassee's Best" title, year after year.
